Sydney, Australia 06, April, 2009.  Scandinavian products have reached great popularity in the Australasian region and are always associated with quality, innovation and style.  People in the region have also noticed the difference between Scandinavian business principles and for example older American principles that have influenced them for years.  Even before the global financial crisis, the American principles were often associated with extreme greed, whereas the Scandinavian principles showed more respect for the individual.  Now that most countries have been affected by the financial crisis, the interest in a new and fairer corporate culture will be greater than ever.

Younger people in particular appreciate a more honest and innovative culture, and put a greater value on the respect for the individual.  A humanistic and value based approach with a multiple stakeholder focus tends to inspire them, and this will no doubt affect their buying decisions in the future.  This suggests that Scandinavian companies can capitalize on the financial crisis and gain market share against other companies with a more old fashioned belief system.
