Future Protek launched – new partnership strengthens the development of Swedish physical infrastructure

5 June 2026 – Stockholm, Sweden / Lisbon, Portugal

Future Protek Sweden AB is being established as a new player on the Swedish infrastructure market. The company is a joint initiative between Protek Group and Future Group, combining Swedish project leadership expertise with international infrastructure engineering and delivery experience.

The establishment marks a strategic initiative to support the development, delivery and optimization of complex infrastructure projects across Sweden, within areas including ports, transport systems, energy, water and environmental infrastructure.

Future Protek brings together Protek’s extensive experience in structuring and delivering projects within the Swedish market – from early-stage development to completed delivery – with Future Group’s international experience in engineering and executing infrastructure projects across Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

For more than 25 years, Protek Group has operated within urban development, real estate and construction, supporting clients throughout the entire project lifecycle. This has created a strong foundation in project leadership, governance, process management and a deep understanding of Swedish regulations, requirements and market conditions.

Future Group has, for over 40 years, developed and delivered infrastructure projects internationally within sectors such as ports and maritime environments, transport infrastructure, energy, water and environmental systems. The company has also carried out projects in Sweden.

“We see a strong need to develop and strengthen Swedish infrastructure. This is an area where we want to play a more active role – not only as project managers, but as a partner that can help shape how projects are developed and executed. Through Future Protek, we are taking a natural step in our own development and broadening our role in societal development,” says Jonas Frantz, CEO of Protek Group.

The initiative is founded on a shared understanding that future infrastructure projects increasingly require strong project leadership, clear governance and the integration of technical expertise with delivery capability.

For Future Group, the establishment in Sweden represents a strategic step based on both long-term experience and future ambition.

“For many years, we have developed and delivered infrastructure projects internationally, and we have also carried out projects in Sweden. We believe we have a strong contribution to make through our international perspective, while also having much to learn. Early on, we realised that we would offer a stronger alternative by doing this together with a partner with long experience of the Swedish market,” says João Pimentel de Andrade, CEO of Future Group.

“Protek and Future share values and a clear focus on engagement, business understanding and looking beyond engineering alone. We are convinced that we can achieve more together than we could as competitors,” continues João Pimentel de Andrade.

Through Future Protek, clients will be supported throughout the full project lifecycle – from early-stage analysis and strategic decision-making through to delivery and follow-up.

At its core, the company is built around project leadership, governance and the ability to structure and drive complex projects forward from a client-side perspective. This includes managing processes, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring that projects are developed and executed in line with objectives, requirements and regulatory frameworks.

This capability is complemented by technical specialist expertise and engineering capacity, enabling Future Protek not only to lead and structure projects, but also to contribute to the technical solutions and documentation required for procurement and execution.

The operating model allows for both fully integrated project organisations and targeted support during specific phases, depending on client requirements.

“Ultimately, it is about contributing to better and more cost-efficient projects for a strong and sustainable development of Swedish society. By combining our experience from the Swedish market with international perspectives, we can create solutions that strengthen quality while making better use of resources,” says Oscar Andersson, CEO of Future Protek.

The overall ambition is to contribute to a more efficient, high-quality and sustainable development of Swedish infrastructure – where the combination of local market understanding, strong project leadership and international experience creates new opportunities in how future projects are planned and executed.
