Telemarketing is a 'hot ' topic in Sweden and the rest of Europe.
RingRingRing Group invited journalists, politicians, business folk and all who are interested in telemarketing.
Discussion points were; What are the major advantages of Telemarketing?
Examples given included; Large scale employment of unskilled, unemployed, multi-cultural, multi-aged men and women.
The major disadvantages of Telemarketing were also openly discussed including personal privacy being disturbed by amateur telemarketing companies making unwanted calls.
Speakers included those for telemarketing and those against.
A general debate was held and the consensus of the conference was that Telemarketing should only be practised on customers that can be helped by the product that is being sold.
With correct datamining and market analys can a Telemarketing company identfy exactly which group would be interested in that particular product and not disturb people who would not be interested.
It was recognised by the conference that professional telemarketing companies offer real job opportunities, with fixed salaries, to large numbers of Sweden's work force who would otherwise find it difficult to get into the workplace.
