Scandinavian Biopharma har beviljats ytterligare 10.6 miljoner Euro från EDCTP för att utvärdera vaccinkandidaten ETVAX® mot ETEC i en uppkommande Fas III studie. Projektet kommer att omfatta utvecklingen och framtagandet av en skräddarsydd drickbar formulering av ETVAX® för barn i LMIC och kommer även att innebära genomförandet av en pivotal Fas III studie omfattande 7500 barn i Zambia.
Scandinavian Biopharma has been awarded a €10.6 million grant from EDCTP for a Phase III clinical trial of the ETEC vaccine candidate ETVAX®. The project will include the development and manufacturing of an all-in-one vaccine formulation that will be tailor-made for the paediatric population in LMIC. The main purpose is to make the vaccine preparation more fieldable and user-friendly.
Scandinavian Biopharma och Emergent Travel Health har tecknat ett distributionsavtal för resevaccinet Vivotif®, ett oralt vaccin som skyddar mot tyfoidfeber. Tyfoidfeber orsakas av bakterien Salmonella typhi och ger hög feber med risk för blodförgiftning. Obehandlad kan sjukdomen vara dödlig. Sjukdomen sprids framförallt via förorenat vatten eller mat, men även från person till person.

Scandinavian Biopharma reports successful results of the oral, inactivated ETEC vaccine candidate ETVAX® against enterotoxigenic E. coli diarrhoea in a placebo-controlled phase I/II study in infants and children from 6 months to 5 years of age in Bangladesh.
Nu publiceras de framgångsrika resultaten från den dubbelblindade och placebokontrollerade Fas I/II studien från Dhaka, Bangladesh, i The Lancet Infectious Diseases. Alla studiens primära och fördefinierade målsättningar överträffades.

In the light of global public health issues, enteric diseases are estimated to be the top cause of infectious morbidity and the second leading cause of infectious mortality worldwide.
