Experienced IT leaders join Sembo as part of an ambitious expansion and growth plan
We are happy to announce that Dan Larsson, Juan Cidade and David Malmström are joining the Sembo IT leadership team. This will be a key enabler in our further expansion following an investment of $12M we received from our parent company Stena Line, to develop and launch what we believe to be a game changer in the travel industry, says Patrik Hägne, the CTO of Sembo. With these new additions to the IT leadership team comes a wealth of experience, and a large network in the travel tech industry. Dan, David and Juan have been working closely together for many years prior to this and we are confident that they will hit the ground running.
Sembo is striving to recruit more than 50 people in IT over the coming few years and to help achieve this we have appointed Dan Larsson as “Head of Development”. Dan has extensive experience in IT management within the travel tech space and will oversee all software engineers in Sembo, with a strong focus on an agile and product oriented working culture as well as growing our teams.
Sembo has been working with agile methodologies for a long time, and strongly believes in this way of working. David Malmström joins with broad experience from the travel industry, supporting and leading teams building great products by understanding the needs and desires of the customer. In his role as “Head of Product and UX” he will help foster a product mindset, and enable our teams to create products our customers and partners love.
With the new position as “Head of Data” Juan Cidade will increase our efforts to make the company even more data driven than today. Machine learning and AI will also be a crucial part of our new platform. Juan is a versatile technology leader with a successful track record in delivering critical and large revenue projects working closely with stakeholders and the product organisation.
We are confident that the experience Dan, David and Juan has to bring will help us on our journey towards an even more agile, product focused and high performing organisation.
