Every Child Counts campaign is launched

Today, 31st October 2013, we are launching the Every Child Counts Campaign, which is all about ensuring that children receive vital vaccination services in Uganda. Despite the fact that major childhood diseases such as measles, tuberculosis, diphtheria, hepatitis B (among others) can be prevented by simple and cost-effective interventions such as vaccination, only 52% of children under the age of 5 in Uganda are fully vaccinated. Our goal is to increase the number of fully vaccinated children by enabling health personnel to effectively follow up on every child's vaccination plan.

We are starting off in the Mukono District of Uganda. Until the end of the year, 100% of funds raised through this campaign will go to the implementation of the MyChild information and sypport system in the Mukono District. The estimated cost for the entire district is SEK 110 000, serving 55 000 children. This is only 2 SEK per child.
