Springtime Expands into Finland and Completes Its Nordic Presence

Springtime, one of Scandinavia’s leading specialists in active holidays and running travel, continues its Nordic expansion by establishing operations in Finland through Springtime Travel Finland Oy. With this launch, the company is now present in all four major Nordic markets – Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Running is experiencing strong global growth. Many of the world’s largest marathon and half marathon events now sell out in record time, with demand often exceeding the number of available race entries many times over. At the same time, interest in combining running with travel and unique experiences continues to grow – a trend that is clearly visible across the Nordic region.

In 2026, Springtime celebrates its 40th anniversary. The company organised its first trip to the New York Marathon in 1986 and has since grown into one of Scandinavia’s leading specialists in international running travel and active holidays. Following successful operations in Sweden, Norway and, most recently, Denmark, the company is now taking the next step by establishing a presence in Finland.

“Being represented in all four Nordic countries is an important milestone for us. We see growing demand for international running travel across the region and can now operate as one Nordic organisation while maintaining a strong local presence in each market,” says Patrik Yderberg, CEO of Springtime Group AB.

A Strong Local Partner
Springtime is entering the Finnish market together with Runner's High Oy, one of Finland’s most respected running companies. Founded in 2011, Runner's High offers running coaching for athletes of all levels, physiological testing and training services, and is also the organiser of several of Helsinki’s largest running events, including Helsinki Marathon, Helsinki Half Marathon and Helsinki10. The company has built a strong reputation within the Finnish running community by helping both recreational and elite runners achieve their goals.

“For many years, our mission has been to inspire more people to discover running and help runners develop. Through our partnership with Springtime, we can now offer our customers an entirely new portfolio of international running experiences. It feels like a natural next step for Runner's High,” says Tero Forsberg, CEO of Runner's High Oy.

Aki Nummela Appointed CEO of Springtime Travel Finland
The Finnish operation will be led by Aki Nummela, who has been appointed CEO of Springtime Travel Finland Oy. Aki is a well-known figure within Finnish running, a former elite marathon runner with a personal best of 2:17, and has many years of experience as a running coach, educator and event organiser. Through Runner's High, he has coached everyone from beginners to elite athletes and played an important role in developing Finland’s running community.

“Finland has a strong running culture and a growing interest in international races. Through Springtime, we can offer Finnish runners a much broader range of high-quality running trips than has previously been available. At the same time, we become part of a Nordic network where runners from neighbouring countries can travel and experience races together,” says Aki Nummela.

A Nordic Platform for Running Travel
With operations now established in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, Springtime will begin working more actively across the Nordic region. In addition to offering international running trips, the company aims to increase travel between the Nordic countries by encouraging runners to participate in each other’s major events.

The ambition is to attract Finnish runners to events such as Stockholm Marathon and Copenhagen Marathon, while offering Swedish, Norwegian and Danish runners organised travel packages to races such as Helsinki Marathon.

“The Nordic platform creates entirely new opportunities. By bringing together runners from four countries, we can build stronger travel groups, offer more destinations and create an even better overall experience for our customers. This is the beginning of a truly Nordic strategy for running travel,” says Patrik Yderberg.

Springtime sees the establishment in Finland as another important milestone in its long-term ambition to build the Nordic region’s leading platform for running travel and active holidays.
