Record summer for Stockholm International Fairs

Stockholm International Fairs is heading towards its best congress year ever. The summer of 2007, has offered both Swedish and international congresses with a considerable number of delegates at Stockholm International Fairs. Karin Andersson, head of the congress department at Stockholm International Fairs, explains that the good times in the congress area are due to the fact that Stockholm is becoming an increasingly popular city for hosting conferences. "It's a great joy for us that so many want to come to Stockholm. It's the result of years of persistently working on many of the European and international organisations. It is a big part of our business and moreover, a part that keeps growing," says Karin Andersson. Six congresses will be carried out during the summer which will end with the European Respiratory Society (ERS) in September. ERS is Europe's biggest annual scientific gathering in respiratory medicine and the second biggest congress organised in Europe. ERS welcomes 16,000 respiratory physicians. A total of 37,600 delegates will have participated in congresses at Stockholm International Fairs this summer which generates 150,000 hotel nights in Stockholm.
