RECORD YEAR FOR STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL FAIRS

Stockholm International Fairs, Scandinavia's leading exhibition and congress organiser, is reporting a record year for last year. With a turnover of SEK 736 million - 2008 proved to be the best year ever in the history of the company. Turnover increased by SEK 149 million, or approximately 25 per cent, in comparison with 2007.

The company organised 73 exhibitions and 42 larger congresses, with visitors to Stockholm International Fairs totalling 1,249,431.

"Last year was unquestionably Stockholm International Fairs' best year yet," says Patric Sjöberg, CEO at Stockholm International Fairs. "The increase in turnover was primarily due to a very strong exhibition portfolio and a strong economic business climate."

"The exhibitions that we have organised so far this year, considering the current economic climate, have done quite well. We can see that exhibitions are still considered a given media channel where people can meet, do business together, be inspired and exchange information," concludes Patric Sjöberg.
