U&Me hotel opens in Umeå
This weekend Stylt Trampoli's much-anticipated new hotel project, an innovative self-service hotel, opens. The hotel is called U&Me and is part of Umeå's new cultural centre.
At U&Me, you book and tailor your hotel stay online, choosing from different room categories and adding experiences, ranging from cultural insights such as a personal guided tour of the world-famous guitar museum, to nature and wildlife experiences such as a fishing trip on the river just below the hotel, a bike trip into the countryside, or a berry-picking expedition.
On arrival, you check yourself in at a digital checkin station, and when you wake up in the morning, you assemble your own breakfast from the choices on offer in the nearby artisanal sourdough bakery.
The hotel is located on floors six through thirteen of a brand-new building by Norwegian star architects Snøhetta in collaboration with White Arkitekter. All the rooms, large and small, have spectacular views of the city and the river.
U&Me turns all the stuffy hotel conventions on their heads, and puts the focus on you and your experience. Above all, the hotel seeks to inspire you to go outside its walls and explore the city and the region, and take part in its culture and heritage.
