Sundström Safety setup a central Europe distribution centre.
Sundström Safety setup a distribution centre together with the global transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss. The distribution centre will be operating out of Gebrüder Weiss site in Wernau, near Stuttgart, Germany.
The decision to open a central Europe distribution centre is the result of the growing demand from the European market. Instead of shipping products from the production site in Sweden, it is now possible to reach customers in Europe in less than half the time than before. This means shorter delivery times for distributers and end users of Sundström Safety’s personal protection equipment. Providing the full product range but with focus on fast moving products in high demand, the distribution centre will always be stocked to serve the market.
Sundström Safety already opened their own operations and distribution centre in north America 2009 to shorten the time to market in America. This proved to be successful and now the time has come to the European market. Opening distribution centres in high demand markets is a part of Sundström Safety’s focus on customer fulfilment and sustainability. By larger scheduled shipments instead of on demand shipping from the production site, the products reach the customer faster and cuts down on transports and logistics.
