Svekon signs contract with MBDA for the concept development of a next-generation Ground-Based Air Defence capability in the Nordic region

Svekon (Svensk Konstruktionstjänst AB) today announced the signing of a strategic contract with MBDA, one of Europe’s leading defence companies, for the development of new Ground-Based Air Defence (GBAD) concept with capabilities tailored for the Nordic region.

The agreement marks an important milestone for both companies and reflects the growing demand for advanced, resilient, and interoperable air defence systems in Northern Europe.

The collaboration will focus on strengthening regional defence capabilities while leveraging Swedish engineering excellence and MBDA’s extensive expertise in missile systems and integrated air defence solutions

The partnership is aligned with the evolving security landscape in Europe and supports increased cooperation within NATO and among the Nordic countries. Combining SVEKON’s innovative engineering with MBDA’s proven defence technologies and both companies’ system integration capabilities, the program aims to contribute to enhanced operational effectiveness and security across the region.
