Karin Mattsson nominated for continued term on the FIS Council

The Board considers that work within the FIS Council requires international credibility, continuity and the ability to build trust‑based relationships over time. Based on her engagement and performance in the role so far, Karin Mattsson is regarded as a stable, experienced, and constructive representative in this environment.

“The Board has made a thorough and strategic assessment. Through her work in the FIS Council, Karin Mattsson has demonstrated sound judgement, strong collaborative skills and a long‑term approach. The Board therefore has continued confidence in her capacity to contribute constructively to the Council’s work and to Sweden’s international presence,” says Maria Krafft Helgesson, Acting President of the Swedish Ski Association.

By nominating Karin Mattsson for a continued mandate, the Swedish Ski Association seeks to maintain a credible and consistent Swedish presence within the FIS Council and to contribute responsibly to international cooperation and decision‑making that supports the long‑term development of skiing and snowboarding.

At the same time, the Board intends to further strengthen the interaction between the Association and FIS, promoting clearer alignment on priorities, regular dialogue and shared strategic understanding, while fully respecting the personal and independent mandate associated with service on the FIS Council.
