"Just by looking at the world map, Sweden isn't a huge or very noticeable country, yet what it brings to the table is more than I had thought or known."

Swecare is an exciting workplace where no two days are the same. We believe in bringing in new mindsets and young talent. Therefore, we are delighted to have welcomed our fourth intern!

Meet our intern Katarzyna, student from Södertörn University, Stockholm

What do you do here at Swecare?

At Swecare my role encompasses a variety of tasks, such as being part of developing content and creating communication materials. Considering that many initiatives have an international focus, I am prepared to work with global communication strategies, specifically within the realm of export work in the life science sector. My role will also entail writing documents, gathering information for social media posts and providing practical support during events.

Tell us about your typical day?

Everyday is different at Swecare, but I usually start my workday by going through the agenda and what's relevant for a specific event or theme day. At the time that this is being written I'm curating content for our social media platforms, particularly for LinkedIn and/or Instagram, to ensure a consistent and impactful online presence. The posts are in this case about an event that Swecare and other Nordic companies attended in the UK. Furthermore I work closely with the communication team and we help each other out with ideas and projects, and how to best represent Sweden and its approach and characteristics within healthcare. Most importantly we have fun while doing important work!

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get inspired by anything and everything. In less abstract terms, music, books and television. For example I can watch a really good show or listen to a song with thought-provoking themes, which may then spark creativity and encourage me to explore ideas beyond my usual mindset. Also, very simple but observing the world around me and having interesting conversations with people can help with inspiration. I can go on, but it's a blend of personal encounters and other perspectives.

What do you know now that you didn’t know before?

I have learned a lot about healthcare in general, not just in Sweden but also in other countries by listening to my coworkers and doing my own research. Before starting at Swecare I hadn't actually thought about Sweden being at the forefront of medical innovations and implementation of advanced healthcare. Just by looking at the world map, Sweden isn't a huge or very noticeable country, yet what it brings to the table is more than I had thought or known.
