The Supreme Court confirms the reorganization plan for Swedemount Sportswear & Fashion AB "Sportshopen"
On Monday, the Supreme Court decided to confirm the reconstruction plan for Swedemount Sportswear & Fashion AB. The majority of Swedemount's suppliers and groups of creditors voted in favor of confirming the reconstruction plan already in December, and subsequently both the district court and the court of appeal approved the plan.
Monday's decision by the Supreme Court to not grant leave to appeal the submitted appeal means that the reconstruction is now concluded as the purpose of the reconstruction has been achieved.
"We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all creditors who have almost unanimously supported us regarding the reorganization plan. We look forward to continuing to develop our collaboration in the future. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all employees who have supported the reorganization from day one. Without their full commitment, attitude, and willingness, this would not have been possible," says CEO Johan Andgren.
"The financial dip caused by the closure of our border stores with Norway during the pandemic has now been mended, and the reorganization has allowed us to implement significant improvements and savings that enable a healthy business in the long term," says owner Reinert Sörensson.
"Since the start of this process, I have had good hope and great confidence that Swedemount will manage the reorganization. I want to thank the stakeholders around the company for their support of the reorganization and I also want to extend a big thank you to all the employees who have worked hard to carry out the reorganization of the company," says Chairman of the Board Ulf Bjerknes.
Lars Zetterberg, the company's reorganizer /Administrator , is satisfied with the reorganization work and states that "the purpose of a reorganization procedure, just as in this case, is to save companies with a healthy core business from a temporarily arisen dip."
The decision of the Supreme Court is now final as it cannot be appealed.
