It’s harvest time for Swegreen’s at Ica Maxi in Linköping

The first greens in the InStore farm at Ica Maxi Linköping are fully grown and ready to be harvested. Now Ica’s customers can buy and premier taste the freshly picked leafy greens, herbs and spices of Swegreen, which are filled with flavor and nutrition.

After a few weeks of installation and fine-tuning of the world's most climate-smart and productive vertical farming solution, Sweden's largest in-store farm is now ready to deliver the first harvest of herbs and salads which are produced by help of Swegreen’s sustainable and smart technology. The first assortment to reach the customers includes crisphead lettuce, oakleaf lettuce, basil, cilantro and dill and a broader assortment of greens is going to be available for Ica’s customer as the weeks pass by.

Swegreen's in-store farm, which is built on hydroponic cultivation technology intertwined with a data and AI-driven monitoring and control system, is one of the world’s first, and it awakens such a great interest amongst both consumers and the retail industry at the same time.

The Ica Maxi Mega Store in Linköping is the first of all amongst the country's large megamarkets to offer fresh herbs and salads which are grown from seeds to fully grown plants inside the store itself. As soon as the farm reaches its full capacity, several hundreds of fresh leafy greens, herbs, and spices will be offered to the store's customers on a daily basis.
