TCS Expands its Presence in Gothenburg to better serve clients in the Swedish southwest
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) is expanding its presence in the Gothenburg region in the southwest part of Sweden. The expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for engineering services and digital transformation from customers across all sectors that TCS operates in locally, and particularly from TCS’ manufacturing, automotive consumer services, and life sciences customers.
TCS is specifically seeing a strong demand for expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) from its customers in Sweden. The company has identified growing numbers of technology partnerships and that customer spending on AI and, especially within the automotive industry, digital connected ecosystems, is on the rise.
“We’re continuing to grow our presence in Gothenburg - a city that perfectly blends industrial heritage with sustainable innovation. It serves as an ideal base for TCS to drive growth in automotive, life sciences, and green technologies. This expansion enhances our ability to collaborate closely with clients in western Sweden and accelerate their digital transformation journeys with our expertise in AI and Cybersecurity. We are deeply committed to the region and proud to invest in its vibrant community and exceptional talent pool,” says Ashish Jhunjhunwala, Head of TCS, Sweden.
TCS has been operating in Gothenburg for a decade, and the region forms an important part of TCS’ European Delivery Network. TCS’ European Delivery Network ensures that TCS customers across Europe receive uniform experience that meets their specific cultural, compliance, language and technological requirements.
TCS is already working closely with local customers and partners, such as Telenor, in the Gothenburg area. Telenor recently unveiled its new Gothenburg 5G Lab where TCS and its other partners will contribute to testing new solutions based on technologies like 5G, AI, and machine learning.
The Gothenburg region has been an important driver of Sweden's growth, both economically and in terms of population. TCS has had a presence in the Nordic region since 1991 and opened a new TCS Pace Studio for innovation in Stockholm in 2024 to offer its Nordic customers exclusive access to its Pace ecosystem. TCS sees this latest expansion as a natural step to be able to make an even larger contribution to the multifaceted Swedish business community.
TCS was established in the Nordic region in 1991 and today has approximately 20,000 employees working for clients in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. TCS has been named a “Top Employer” in Sweden for twelve consecutive years by the independent organization Top Employers Institute. For 15 years in a row, TCS has ranked among the top IT service providers for customer satisfaction in the Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark) in Whitelane Research’s independent survey of the top IT spending organisations. TCS is also a title sponsor and technology partner for TCS Lidingöloppet, world’s biggest cross-country race.
