Telelogic A Prominent Contributor to Object Management Group Systems Modeling Language (OMG SysML™) Version 1.0 Standard

SysML Team Unanimously Passes SysML Version 1.0 Standard, Telelogic Champions SysML Standard With Support for New Standard in Model-Driven Development Environment Rhapsody MALMÖ, Sweden and BOSTON, Massachusetts – May 12, 2006 – Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange: TLOG), the leading provider of software solutions that align advanced systems and software development with business objectives, today announced that the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) Merge Team’s SysML Specification v 1.0 submission has begun the official adoption process at the Object Management Group’s Technical meeting in St Louis, held on April 26, 2006. Owing to Telelogic’s leadership of the diverse team that crafted the SysML standard, this latest development represents a critical milestone towards the use and implementation of the standard by tool vendors and users, respectively. The OMG SysML™ Specification will now enter the finalization process through the OMG that will lead to a formally approved specification. The specification and supporting documentation can be found on the OMG SysML site at http://syseng.omg.org/SysML.htm The Systems Modeling Language (SysML) is a general-purpose graphical modeling language for specifying, analyzing, designing, and verifying complex systems that may include hardware, software, information, personnel, procedures, and facilities. In particular, the language provides graphical representations with a semantic foundation for modeling system requirements, behavior, structure, and integration with a broad range of engineering analysis. SysML represents a subset of UML 2.0 with extensions needed to satisfy the requirements of the UMLTM for Systems Engineering RFP. The UML for Systems Engineering RFP was developed jointly by the OMG and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and issued by the OMG in March 2003. The SysML specification was developed in response to these requirements by a diverse group of tool vendors, end users, academia, and government representatives. The SysML team members can be found on the cover page of the SysML Specification. A longstanding contributor to the OMG, Telelogic supports the latest SysML standard in the company’s market leading Model-Driven Development (MDD) environments; Rhapsody and TAU® G2. A free Rhapsody trial download is now available at http://www.ilogix.com/developer-trial.aspx .
