Two new plants strengthen Thomas Concrete Group in the U.S.
Thomas Concrete Group continues to expand its footprint in the United States through the establishment of two new concrete plants in the Charlotte region of North Carolina. The new facilities in Denver and Midland strengthen the company's position in one of the fastest-growing areas in the southeastern United States and create opportunities for continued growth.
The Charlotte region has experienced strong population growth for several years, driving demand for new housing, infrastructure and commercial development. Through the two new plants, Thomas Concrete Inc. is enhancing its local presence and its ability to meet the needs of a growing construction market.
The two plants produce ready-mixed concrete and stackable Thomabloc from the utilization of returned concrete, specialty admixtures and fibers as well as aggregates and associated products.
The Midland plant is scheduled to begin production this summer and will strengthen the company's position east of the metropolitan area. Midland is the first facility within Thomas Concrete Group's U.S. operations to feature the modern Merts “Big EZ” technology, designed with safety and ease of maintenance in mind. The plant has a production capacity of up to 115 cubic meters per hour.
The Denver plant entered production late 2025 and is strategically located to serve the rapidly growing Lake Norman area north of Charlotte. The plant has the capacity to produce approximately 91 cubic meters of ready-mixed concrete per hour.
“Charlotte and the surrounding region continue to experience significant growth. These investments allow us to be closer to our customers and strengthen our ability to support the region's continued development with high-quality concrete solutions,” says Hans Karlander CEO and President of Thomas Concrete Group AB.
The investment is part of Thomas Concrete Group's long-term strategy to grow in the U.S. market, one of the Group's most important markets. The new plants improve logistics, increase capacity and create new opportunities to support customers throughout the Charlotte region.
“The investments in Denver and Midland provide a stronger platform for future growth while enabling us to continue delivering the quality, service and expertise our customers expect from us,” says Hans Karlander.
