Five-star Hotels adopt a new Swedish innovation

A Swedish innovation is being adopted by five-star Hotels in Scandinavia and Europe. The properties are introducing it to their in-room amenity and departure gift offers. The product is called tic®. It is a global award-winning item.

Swedish product tic® is a global innovation that enables a person to fasten a shirt button in seconds, without using needle or thread. It will replace traditional hotel sewing kits. The product is manufactured in Sweden in compliance with ISO Quality and Environmental Management Systems, and when used in hotels is presented in small elegant packets exposing the respective properties logo and brand.

Tried and proven by Sweden’s finest five star property – The Grand Hôtel Stockholm
The only hotel in Sweden with accepted membership in the exclusive Leading Hotels of the World group – Grand Hôtel Stockholm – has been offering tic® to guests via all it’s rooms and suites since December 2012.

We include Tic to our in-room amenity offer because it is one of those small things that contributes to a feeling of being taken care of. It’s modern, elegant and innovative, and it leaves a long-lasting positive impression with guests.” says Jryki Sahamies, Executive Housekeeper at Grand Hotel Stockholm.

Suiting grand, luxury and full-service properties
The Tic Sweden Company granted the Grand Hotel in Stockholm exclusive rights to offer tic®. Now the rights have expired there are other five-star luxury, grand and full-service properties in Scandinavia and Europe beginning to adopt the product.

Irelands award winning five-star luxury property, The Merrion Hotel, recently introduced tic® to all its 123 rooms and 19 suites. Other five-star and LHW properties soon to be introducing tic® to their guests are Hotel Castillo del Nero (Italy), Schloss Elmau (Germany), J.K Place Roma (Italy). The Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Amsterdam (Holland) are currently using tic® and throughout Scandinavia the Nordic Choice group is introducing it to multiple properties.

Most the five-star properties are opting to have it as a bespoke branded in-room amenity. Some choose also to use it as a departure gift or giveaway item during familiarization tours and conferences, it’s a remarkably versatile item.” says Key Account and Marketing executive at the Tic Sweden Company, Andrew Arbuthnott.

"We experience Tic as en excellent way to communicate with our guests. It shows that we’re a high quality and forward thinking hotel, a leading hotel of the world.” says Executive Housekeeper of the Grand Hotel Stockholm, Jryki Sahamies.

Swedish venture capitalist, Mats Gabreielsson, says, “To be remembered as an excellent Hotel, and stay in the memory of a guest as something very special, you need to offer more than standard amenities. That is where our innovative Swedish product comes into play. Tic should be a must for any excellent hotel aiming to be better than the rest”.

An international award winner
During 2014 tic® has won two international awards. The first being the 2014 Promotional Gift Award, which highlights elite and innovative promotional gift items in Europe. The second award recently won  by tic®  has been a prestigious Red Dot Design Award – which is a highly sought after global mark of quality and design.
