The Danish Government today announced that Hi3G Denmark ApS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hi3G Access AB, has been awarded one of the four licences to offer UMTS services in Denmark. This will enableHi3G to provide the Danish population with world-leading mobile multi media services.

Jörgen Askeroth heter Hi3G:s nye tekniske direktör (CTO). Jörgen tillträder den 1 oktober. Han kommer närmast från Wireless Maingate där han har varit VD under drygt två år och byggt upp verksamheten inom maskin-till-maskin kommunikation (M2M).

Hi3G Access har idag tecknat ett intentionsavtal med Ericsson, om köp av UMTS-infrastruktur. Ericsson går också in i ett vidare samarbete om utveckling av strategiska applikationer och tjänster med Hi3G och övriga företag inom Hutchisons 3G verksamhet. Detta är ett viktigt steg för Hi3G mot lanseringen av 3G-tjänster i Sverige.
Hi3G Access today signed a letter of intent with Ericsson for the supply of UMTS network infrastructure. Ericsson also enters a wider cooperation with Hi3G and companies within the Hutchison 3G group, concerning the development of strategic applications and services. Jan Edhäll har utsetts till VD för 3G Infrastructure Services från och med den 1 juni 2001. Jan Edhäll kommer närmast från en position som VD för Allgon. Innan det arbetade Jan i 24 år i olika befattningar på Ericsson, såväl i Sverige som utomlands.
Jan Edhäll has been appointed CEO of 3G Infrastructure Services as of 1 June 2001. He comes most recently from Allgon where he was CEO. Prior to this, Jan worked for Ericsson for 24 years, holding a variety of posts both in Sweden and abroad.

3G Infrastructure Services AB - det är namnet på Hi3G och Europolitan Vodafones till lika delar ägda bolag. Bolaget kommer att förse de bägge företagen med UMTS-infrastruktur som täcker upp till 70 procent av befolkningen.
