Hi3G continues its rapid recruitment, adding three key staff members. Ineke Botter joins as Technical Director, Eva Elmstedt from Semcon takes on the responsibility as Director IT; and Niclas Lilja from Framfab enters as Director Communications.

The forecasted funding requirement of 37 billion SEK in Hi3G's application to The Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) assumes that the company finances the whole activity as described in the business plan on its own, and without any co-operations or financial leverage.

Europolitan and Hi3G, two companies granted UMTS licences in Sweden, have agreed to jointly build part of their UMTS infrastructure. The agreement in principle will help ensure that the two companies achieve a fast, environmentally friendly and cost-effective roll out of Sweden's best UMTS-networks. Both parties are open to co-operation with others.
