Press release -

Creative Business – a part of UNESCO creative cities meeting in Östersund

We believe that businesses today need to be creative to be successful. We believe that creative means being both agile and curious and adapting change, in order to be relevant. We believe that it all comes down to people, and being a useful part of meaningful networks.

Creative Business is an event created especially for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network annual meeting, when the world descends on a small rural town in northern Sweden during the first week of September. This is a unique setting in which regional businesses, international guests and locals all have the chance to meet, learn and gain new perspectives and business contacts as a result.

When and where?
15th september 2016, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Storsjöteatern in Östersund, Sweden

The event will strive to manifest the importance of implementing culture as a business tool, and as a collaborative agent, towards unifying people of all nationalities. We believe that culture provides a certain stickiness that brings people together in order to create successful businesses. Our goal for the day is to provide an arena for business leaders where they can meet and help each other generate new and better business.

PROGRAM

…is yet to come. We will, however, go out on a limb and say that this is something you really want to experience.
We will build a program with inspirational speakers and plenty of opportunity to network, meet new people and create new business.

– Creative Business is one in a series of exciting events that will take place in September and we look forward to show our creative gastronomic region to the world, says one of the project leaders Theresia Grön.

The City of Östersund was designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2010. Östersund was awarded this designation because of the city’s gastronomic entrepreneurs and the Jämtland Härjedalen region’s gastronomic culture and traditions, which are rooted in locally and sustainably produced food.

Anyone interested in gastronomy and culture should visit Jämtland Härjedalen 12-18 September. The UNESCO Creative Cities Network 10th Annual Meeting will be held September 14-16 in Östersund. The entire week will offer activities out of the ordinary. Stay tuned for more updates!
