Press release -
Nobel Peace Prize Concert Gets New Look
A new graphic identity and website has been launched for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo. The new logotype in black and red features the Norwegian Peace medal in a gold colour.
The new website (www.nobelpeaceprizeconcert.org) reflects the new re-designed brand image of the Nobel Peace Prize Concert and presents an updated, modern public face for the annual contemporary music concert. The new site incorporates interactive features such as videos and social media sharing options, such as Facebook and You Tube, that were not part of the previous site.
The new look is designed by the new global cloud based advertising agency *UP There, Everywhere. Julian Stubbs, who is English but lives in Sweden, from UP* headed the international team behind the new look. Stubbs said ‘We are getting a great reaction to the new look and we’ve worked hard to maintain the heritage of Nobel, whilst creating an identity that’s appropriate for a contemporary music concert and celebration.’ He goes on to say ‘Nobel is one of the world’s best known brands and it’s wonderful to get the opportunity to work with it.’ Stubbs is a brand and design expert and is the person behind the recent branding work for Stockholm, The Capital of Scandinavia.
About the Concert
The Nobel Peace Prize Concert is a contemporary musical tribute to the year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate and is held annually on the evening after the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony. This year’s Concert will be held Sunday 11 December 2011 at 20:00 (8 pm.) CET at the Oslo Spektrum Arena in Norway.
The names of this year’s Concert artists include Sugarland, David Gray, Jill Scott, Janelle Monáe, Matthew Morrison, Ellie Goulding, Bernhoft and the World Youth Choir.
The Nobel Peace Prize 2011 has been awarded jointly to Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkol Karman "for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work". The concert happens the day after the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize itself.
