Red dot: Prestigious award for our latest design for BabyBjörn

Ergonomidesign receives three awards in Red dot product design award 2010. On Monday July 5th, Ergonomidesign and BabyBjörn is awarded with a red dot design award for its innovative and functional design for the Bassinet Harmony. The light baby bed, with mesh fabric that shields the baby from sunlight and insects, is easy to move and to travel with. The design team has managed to create a construction that makes the bed really small when folded. It is also easy to fold and light to carry around. The red dot product design award is one of the worlds largest and prestigious international design competitions.

Ergonomidesign also got awarded with two red dot honourable mentions for the Anza outdoor paint brush, the first offset angled brush that significantly increases comfort, and the easy-to-use mobile phone for seniors, PhoneEasy 410gsm, designed for Doro.

The jury’s selection criteria are: degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, durability, symbolic and emotional content, product peripherals, self-explanatory quality and ecological soundness. The festive awards ceremony with more than 1,000 guests will take place in the Essen (Germany) opera house, the Aalto-Theatre, on 5 July 2010. “All products that have won an award in the red dot design award had to convince an international expert jury of their quality. The products stand out from the masses with their excellent design and innovative approaches and proved their quality in one of the toughest design competitions worldwide,” explains design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award. This year, designers and companies from 57 nations with a total of 4,252 products took part in the “red dot award: product design”.
