Yangi Unveils Dry Formed Fiber-Based Food Tray: Elevating Sustainability in Everyday Meals

Yangi today unveils its latest innovation: a fiber-based food tray engineered to replace traditional plastic in ready meals, meat, and takeaway applications. Versatile, functional, and fully future-aligned, it offers brands a scalable solution to meet growing demand for sustainable food packaging.

“Today marks a key moment as we unveil our fiber-based food tray, building on the positive response of our fiber-based container lid for dry and ambient food launched in June this year, both products advancing our commitment to deliver sustainable solutions for the food industry,” says Hanna Rüdel, Chief Commercial Officer at Yangi. “As Yangi continues to innovate, we offer packaging producers and brands the opportunity to work closely with our team on product development and validation. Yangi’s fiber-based food tray, crafted from 100% renewable FSC fibers, is recyclable in existing paper streams worldwide. We are currently exploring lamination, sealing, lids, embossing, debossing, and labelling options, carefully considering how all these elements work together to enhance our food tray offering to meet the current market needs.

With physical prototypes ready for early-stage testing, we invite brands and packaging producers interested in our fiber-based food tray to collaborate in refining and validating it for their specific product requirements; together moving closer to full product validation and market launch. By utilizing Yangi’s dry forming technology Cellera, currently operational in our state-of-the-art production facility in Varberg, Sweden, small-scale production for market testing becomes a possibility.
