Epson and Geylang International Football Club Host Football Clinic for Lakeside Family Services Team in Preparation for Epson Youth Challenge

- SINGAPORE, July 20, 2017 -

Star players Gabriel Quak, Faritz Hameed and Fahrish Khan, as well as Head Coach Noor Ali, from Geylang International Football Club, hosted a football clinic last night for an Epson sponsored team from Lakeside Family Services, ahead of the upcoming Epson Youth Challenge taking place from 22 to 29 July 2017.

In partnership with Geylang International Football Club (GIFC), and in support of GetActive! Singapore, Epson Youth Challenge promotes new platforms for youth development through sports.

Commenting on his experience at the football clinic, Lakeside Family Services player Muhammad Shamuzaffar bin Shamsuden said, “The training session helped me a lot as I learnt new skills from star players in preparation for the Epson Youth Challenge. It was a great experience learning from the professionals, before we go to the tournament this weekend. The dribbling and first touch approach to playing 5-a-side football, as well as our positioning on the field, really helped our preparation for the competition.”

Faritz Hameed, GIFC and Singapore national team defender added, “Personally, sports and football in particular helped me become who I am today. It teaches us about many aspects in life – discipline, commitment, hard work and perseverance. It’s important to provide Singapore youth with opportunities to help them develop both in sports and in real life. Tournaments like Epson Youth Challenge provide a stepping stone for youth to pursue their dreams, as well help discover new talent. At the end of the day, this helps elevate Singapore football.”

Epson Youth Challenge 2017 is held in support of GetActive! Singapore and Singapore Football Week, and in celebration of Singapore Youth Olympic Festival 2017.
