Breaking Traditions ~ High End Resilient Flooring @ the Bathroom

Traditionally, bathroom flooring is installed with ceramic, stones and homogeneous tiles; now with High end resilient flooring (HERF), home owners have more "wood" designs to choose.

High end resilient flooring, also known as waterproof laminate flooring by local interior designers, it is waterproof and termite proof in nature. Although it behaves like laminate flooring due to its designs and feels like real wood flooring, it is introduced as a strong alternative to both of them. 

Water damage is one of the most commonly seen problems with low quality laminate flooring as well as with parquet flooring. Home owners need to be constantly reminded not to leave the windows open so that the water will not get in should it rains. Hence, you will rarely see laminate flooring or parquet being used for residential wet areas such as the kitchen, bathroom or the basement. 

HERF seems to be breaking that 'tradition' now. Home owners are beginning to be more opened up to such "wood alike" flooring designs for their bathrooms and kitchens. On top of that, its embossed features on HERF enhances the feeling of wood grains and wood grooves on each individual flooring planks. 

Such feature also makes the flooring highly slip resistant; which is required especially when the someones washes the kitchen, family members can be rest assured that the kitchen is safe from potential slipping resistant. Hence therefore, families with young kids and the elderly may consider such flooring option for their homes.

Living in Singapore and most part of tropical Southeast Asia, humidity may be one big cause of worry for most home owners when it comes to selecting the right flooring material for their homes. High level of humidity or moisture in the homes may lead swelling if the flooring is not maintained well especially for low quality laminate floors. HERF, on the other hand, is waterproof so such problem is very minimal.

Flooring technology has been evolving constantly from time to time. Most importantly of all, the main reason for advancing should be giving home owners the ease and comfort, as well as improving their individual home living design and lifestyle.
