If there’s any humps or unleveled ground by 3 mm difference, the existing floor can be filed and sand down with a floor leveler. This is to allow the planks to click together. HERF is recommended to overlay onto a hard surface because the soft elements (such as carpet) under HERF may create a shift to the interlock.

The tools used to install HERF are:

·  Utility knife and straight ruler

·  Shears for cutting around irregular shaped objects

First, using measuring tape to reassure the dimension of the floor and also lay a row of loose planks. The loose planks can help to estimate the number of planks are needed to the specific area before installing.Hence, less mistakes will be made during installation to achieve gap-less flooring. Then cut the plank accordingly to the measurement by using the utility knife and a ruler. Shears are meant for cutting irregular shapes on HERF to fit in round corners and home fixture. Conveniently place the planks against the corners and interlock it together. When there's a clicking sound, it indicates a tight seam is created. Repeat till the last plank. And finally there you go, new eco flooring!
