Chelsea Tours Asia With Malaysia Airlines

Subang: Malaysia Airlines is the official air charter carrier for English Premier League team Chelsea Football Club’s Asia Tour 2011.
 
The announcement was made at the charter agreement signing ceremony today with ProEvents, the leading football marketing and management consultancy in Asia, who are also the sole and exclusive tour promoter for the tour.
 
In his speech before the signing, Malaysia Airlines’ Managing Director/CEO Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin said, “When it comes to providing air charter services for world class soccer clubs, Malaysia Airlines has consistently maintained its competitive edge for many years as the preferred carrier for these globally recognised teams”.
 
“Our travel arm MASholidays has also developed packages for fans in this region to see Chelsea in action. We will continue to develop such packages in our continuous efforts to promote inbound sports tourism,” he added.

There will also be several activities planned with the Chelsea team during their visit to Malaysia. "We will announce some of them, so be on the lookout for an opportunity to watch them 'live' in action" Tengku said at the end of the ceremony.

“Air charter is a key component of the tour as we have to ensure all our guests are well looked after by experienced airline staff," said Julian Kam, CEO of ProEvents Group. The senior management, the new manager and his colleagues and the full first team squad will  be flying with Malaysia Airlines throughout their tour in Asia," added Julian Kam who is also FIFA Match Agent.

Malaysia Airlines Executive Vice President, Commercial Strategy, Dato’ Dr Amin Khan signed on behalf of the national carrier while ProEvents was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Julian Kam.

Tengku Azmil and General Secretary of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Dato' Azzuddin Ahmad witnessed the signing.

The national carrier will be flying the Chelsea Football team from London to the Asian cities covered by the team’s Asia Tour 2011, namely Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

The world renowned team will be arriving in Kuala Lumpur on July 17 to begin the Asia Tour.

In Malaysia, Chelsea will take on Harimau Malaya at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur on 21 July 2011 at 8.45pm. This is a golden opportunity for all football fans to see the Premier league team in action in Malaysia.
