Helping the Homeless and Healthcare Heroes During COVID-19

Doing our part in these challenging times, Pan Pacific Hotels Group steps up our giving efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From heightening precautionary measures to ensure our guests’ safety and well-being, playing our part to house returning residents in Singapore and Australia, to being flexible with room cancellations, and feeding the needy and housing the homeless – we remain steadfast in our belief that there is light in humanity.

Here’s a snapshot of how our hotels are helping around the region.

1 Australia: Giving a Home to the Homeless at Pan Pacific Perth, “Hotels with Heart” Programme

At the peak of Perth’s battle against COVID-19, Pan Pacific Perth opened its doors to provide accommodation to the homeless – one of the most vulnerable groups in the country. Unable to self-isolate should they fall ill, these rough sleepers need all the help they can get. We’re proud to step up in the crisis to provide timely support and shelter to those who need it most.
2 Singapore: 20,000 meals for the Underprivileged through PARKROYAL on Beach Road and Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurants’ “From Our Hearts” initiative

Most recently, PARKROYAL on Beach Road converted its banquet kitchen facility to a temporary halal-certified facility to provide halal meals to beneficiaries from Care Singapore and Children’s Society during the Ramadan season.

Thanks to the concerted efforts by our culinary teams, we served over 20,000 meals as part of the Project Makan initiative. Organised by Social Kitchen @ YMCA and SHINE Children and Youth Services, it benefits low-income families with children whose access to free or subsidised school meals are disrupted by the circuit breaker.
3 Bangladesh: Pan Pacific Dhaka’s Frontliners Ensure Highest Levels of Hygiene

At Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, our hotel associates are truly heroes behind the scenes. Here are photos of them hard at work cleaning the pool and outdoor areas to ensure hygiene is kept at the highest level.

Some of our associates have also stepped up to form part of the volunteer team assisting the lockdown of the countryfrom 26 March to 12 April 2020.
4 Myanmar: Nourishing Healthcare Heroes and Stay-Home Families at PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw

Our team at PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw was also hard at work preparing a special lunch – butter rice with chicken curry, balachaung, and banana pudding – to nourish healthcare heroes at Township Medical Service and the Public Health Department at Dekkhina Thiri Township. We hope this little act spurs them on in their mission to keep Myanmar’s capital safe and COVID-19-free.

Romeo Thu, our Nay Pyi Taw chef, also participated in a live interview on Channel ME Myanmar, providing essential food and nutritional tips during this stay-home period.
5 Singapore: Celebrating COVID-19 Heroes with Care Packs at all Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites

We applauded our very own COVID-19 frontline warriors (our associates) at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Singapore with care packs and snacks!

To show how much we appreciate their unwavering support and resilience during this COVID-19 situation, we distributed care packs filled with sanitisers, Vitamin-C drinks, and Swiss Rolls to these precious members of our team. Thank you for all your hard work!
