Carl Robinson renowned for his fashion sense, refined taste, sophistication and depth has introduced his latest collection, Edition 5, Reflect.

The 5th Edition in the series, REFLECT, is the culmination of experience and commitment to the artistic process of creating wallcoverings that are uniquely his. His design process is based on tradition and he strives to synthesize his experiences with new technology to produce innovative and beautiful wallcoverings.

The luxurious and opulent look for Edition 5, Reflect was selected from a portfolio of classic antique textile documents and recreated for Wallcoverings. Non-woven mylar with a luminous metallic finish was chosen for the substrate and the individually hand-mixed inks were printed with a raised-surface to add sumptuous texture and create a matte/shine effect. The seductive color palette of rich golds, shimmering silvers and mineral neutrals give a spectacular finish to this statement collection

Wallcovering from Archive Traditional, Cole & Son, Goodrich

In 1873 John Perry started a business designing and printing wallpapers. He was an enthusiastic collector of wooden printing blocks and he also reintroduced skills and processes that were disappearing at the time. The business was acquired by Cole & Son in 1941 and the company is the trustee of a valuable and historic archive of wallpaper designs and wooden printing block from the early 18th century onwards.

The Archive Traditional collection has been drawn from this wonderful resource. There are 12 designs and one texture incorporating, not only designs that are well known, but also some which have not seen the light of day for many decades.

Ludlow - an 18th century design from a fabric created for the Williamsburg Colony. Both graceful and flowing on the wall it is now produced as a screen print in five colourways, off white on neutral taupe, white on palest blue grey, copper on pale wheat, silver on French grey also dark charcoal on natural white.

Hovingham – a large scale Early Victorian damask, simplified by Cole’s Design Studio. Produced as a two-colour surface print in warm gold on cameo, cream on grey beige, off white on old white and gold on soft mauve.

Clandon – a useful medium scale light weight ogee surface printed design, now returning in off white on soft feather, gold on navy, white on warm white, cream on pale duck egg, almost yellow and gold on raspberry.

Never before printed by Cole & Son, Hartford a four colour surface print revealing weaving spays of stylised flowers, in three colourways. Pink, orange, copper and grey on almost black, muted shades of biscuit, cream, pink and gunmetal on feather and muted teal, taupe, tea rose and off white on dark cream.

Cranley - a beautiful curvaceous design of tiger lilies and leaves is produced as a single colour surface print. Available in cream on honey, off white on water, bronze on leather, and off white on pollen.

Lee Priory – a small early Victorian design with pretty gothic overtones. This single colour surface print design is now in white on soft ochre, off white on pale French grey, old magenta on red, off white on dried lavender.

One of the most popular of Coles designs, Dorset is a classical, restrained and light design. Revived in off white on warm sand, gold on almost black, gold on earthy red, off white on old white, gold on duck egg and natural white.

St Petersburg Damask – taken from an early 20th century fabric. This large-scale open damask on a jaspe background has modern overtones, and has been adapted for screen-printing in four colourways – warm silver on mink, off white on warm grey beige, loganberry on blue/red, pale putty on grey beige.

Florence Damask – is a charming medium scale design from 1890 in one colour surface printing, in light putty, French grey of off white, soft ochre on white and raspberry.

Woolverstone Hall – taken from an 18th century silk design – this delicate small-scale damask has been adapted for screen printing. Three colourways, warm silver on pales duck egg, white on champagne lustre, and warm silver on muted navy.

Dialytra – flowing leaf design from the early Victorian period. Available in off white on water, warm French grey on natural white, and white on soft ochre.

Sudbury – this medium scale classical style damask on a silk effect moiré ground with urns and garlands adapted for today in palest putty, soft duck egg, mink, black on soft copper, with matching plain Moire grounds.

Moiré from the Archive & Traditional collection features a design made up of a simple moiré on a plain background from the Cole & Son archives. Available in 4 colourways designed to match the Sudbury design

Embraces Romanticism~

A sumptuous new collection of damask prints inspired by the Romantic Period, at Maison et Objet Paris, in January.

Named after an infamous bohemian private members club opened in London in 1874, the Collection evokes the glamorous and poetic era of the 18th & 19th century. Each of the nine designs references a cultural icon or gem of the time.

A series of traditional damask prints from our vast archive were selected, adapting the designs and colours and experimenting with different printing techniques to create a modern feel. The result is an elegant Collection ideal for both heritage and contemporary settings; the creativity of Albemarle is a homage to the rich artistic period from which it is inspired.

Wallcovering from Vivienne Westwood Collection,Cole & Son, Goodrich

The Vivienne Westwood collection of wallcoverings is based on signature designs from her fashion collections. From the early days of punk rock to establishing her own international fashion house Vivienne Westwood has been a major influence for over three decades. She is known as a symbol of British avant-garde and for her inimitable take on traditional British style and design.

Most of the designs use fabric detail as motifs, in a range of colours, together with two striking panel murals: one of a Union Jack and the other of a Tartan fabric. The wallpapers in this collection reflect Vivienne Westwood’s style interpreted into wallcoverings you can both live with and make a statement with.
