JISC survey on eBooks returns interesting findings

JISC, the UK’s leading expert on the information and digital technologies for education and research have recently published the findings of their project The Role of Metadata in the Discovery, Selection and Acquisition of e-Books. The survey in particular reveals some quite interesting information.

Did you know that most people use eBooks for writing an essay or for a research project? Or that people find out about eBooks through library services or tutor recommendations? Find out why eBooks are used, what metadata is considered most useful and what research tasks eBooks are regularly being used for? Read the survey results here.

The entire project report is available online or can be downloaded at http://ebmotmet.wikispaces.com/Report

The project wiki is also available with additional content and is open to all at http://ebmotmet.wikispaces.com/Home
