Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which came to a triumphant conclusion last weekend, continues to consolidate its position as the world’s largest meeting place for Scandinavian design. Many people commented on the vibrant international atmosphere they felt in the exhibition halls. Out of a total of nearly 40,000 visits made to Stockholmsmässan, more than 10,000 were made by visitors from abroad.
Scandinavia’s largest exhibition and congress center can add another successful year to the books. With a turnover of more than SEK 500 million and a profit in 2015, Stockholmsmässan is strengthening its leading position as both a meeting venue and an exhibition organizer. The business generated more than 2,000 employment opportunities during the year in the Stockholm area.

February 9–13 are the dates for this year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world's largest meeting place for Scandinavian design. During the five days, the furniture and lighting industry will gather at Stockholmsmässan to meet and see the latest innovations for the home and public spaces.
For this year’s Fair, of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair introduced a new award – Editors' Choice. The award includes three categories: Rising Star, Best Stand and Best Product. The Jury consists of the editors-in-chief from some of Europe’s most influential design forums.
It is soon once again time for Week 6, which has become synonymous with Stockholm Design Week. The entire global elite in design and architecture will be in Stockholm to gather and see the latest in furniture and lighting at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. With the trade fair at the middle of it all, the entire city will be buzzing with around 80 events, installations and parties.
Nordic design is growing in popularity and demand. This was clearly evident at Formex, an interior design and gifts fair, which closed its doors this past weekend. It was the largest spring-Formex yet in terms of surface area.
British design studio Barber & Osgerby, have created a cross section of daily life through a Triptych installation comprised of new work.
The jury-selected award Formex Formidable 2015 has been won by Emma Fällman for the expressive graphic design of her luxurious silk scarves. The People’s Choice, which is voted for by the general public, has been won by the IPA beer glass from Orrefors designed by Erika Lagerbielke.
This spring we want to design our interiors with a personal touch and a lot of color as well as with warmth and artistic sensitivity. On January 20-23 Formex opens the season for the interior design industry at Stockholmsmässan. This spring's trend theme, Nordic Kicks, offers "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something given".
Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair's own forum for knowledge and discussions in the area of design and architecture - Stockholm Design Talks - presents several well-respected firms and lecturers to talk about architecture in Scandinavia and the world. Participants include Jenny B. Osuldsen from Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and Shohei Shigematsu from OMA in New York.
Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair presents Aurora – Nordic Architecture and Design, an exhibition that takes a closer look at what makes Nordic design unique and displays examples of Swedish housing architecture. The exhibition consists of two parts, one focusing on architecture, The Common good! and one focusing on design, Nordic Conditions.
