Designed to be noticed - company cars on the road

One of the region’s brightest young IT companies has made sure it gets noticed as staff travel around – by branding up a pair of cool Ford KAs.

Software development and website design company 27stars Ltd, which has offices in Shrewsbury and Welshpool, commissioned Oswestry-based Scotprint UK to create a distinctive livery for the vehicles.

Managing director Karl Doody said: “Although most of our business activity takes place in cyberspace, we like to get out and about visiting clients, meeting new customers or networking. 27stars is a dynamic young company – the average age of our staff is just 24 - and we wanted our cars to reflect that we are a little bit different from other IT software developers.”

Mr Doody, 26, is also the founder of the West Midlands Ruby User Group – which facilitates knowledge-sharing amongst specialist cutting-edge IT professionals through presentations, talks and programming together.

He added: “The Scotprint design team took our initial designs and made them reality. We were amazed how quick and easy it was to get the images put onto the cars and we are really pleased with the reaction they get as we drive around Shropshire and Mid Wales.”

Hilary Richardson, managing director of Scotprint, said: “We supply vinyl graphics to all kinds of businesses – from sole traders to huge organisations like the British Army – and they never fail to make an impact. Vehicle livery is a very cost-effective way to promote your business and we are finding more and more customers choosing this form of marketing.”

Scotprint UK is a local company with a national reputation. In addition to vehicles, Scotprint provides business signage, printing, branded clothing, exhibition materials and promotional gifts.

27stars specialises in creating business software solutions to meet its clients’ needs. The company combines expert technical development, with intuitive interface designs, for both private and public sector, to build web applications, databases and iPhone, BlackBerry and iPad apps.
