Hair for London Parties

Its party season again, an that means hair and beauty salons up and down the country are working overtime to create masterful transformations from work look to evening goddess.

Running A London Thing, leads me to report on the hottest and latest findings across our Wonderful City.

Hairdressers Fashion Forward Hair

One hairdressers, I’ve been hearing a lot about recently is Jonning and Riashi, based just off Goodge Street.

These guys run an informal but professional, trendy salon. Using the Japanese founded and super cool  Shu Uemura hair care, gives this salon an added twist of fashionable edge.

I went along to their Salon, for a cut and blow dry, and to try out some Swedish coffee.(as Nadia Jonning is from Sweden)

The feeling  you get when you arrive is a really hip East end meets West end vibe.

The cut was a fairly simple task, as I only wanted a trim off the ends, but what impressed me most was the blow dry afterwards.

Victoria Secret Look

Using techniques I've seen used on the Victoria Secret catwalk shows. Nadia blow dried each section, then pinned each piece into a loose roll, which when unpinned (20mins later) left my hair full of volume, and ready for my night out.

One week on, and my notoriously dry and brittle hair is looking in fabulous condition, and much easier to manage.

So where did these Hair Happy genius get to Goodge street?

Jonning and Riashi’s humble beginnings are perhaps what create a great atmosphere and relationship with their clients. Their Aussie/Swedish heritage is apparent is their warm and friendly charm.

Their business clientele has been built up mainly through recommendation, and their sustainability is firmly cemented through the opening of their newish Salon, and upper end clientele.

Vivienne Westwood Hair

When they aren't working out of their salon, they are off on projects such as Vivienne Westwood shoots and London Fashion Week, to name drop just a few.

If you’re keen to experience the Jonning and Riashi experience check out their salon here. Pop into their salon tucked away (ideal for privacy) in Goodge Place
