LOVE FOOD STREAT FESTIVAL

To launch this year’s LOVE FOOD GIVE FOOD campaign, we are holding a one-off evening of street food and music at Flat Iron Square in London's buzzing SE1. With DJ Pandora Christie on the decks and the night's gastronomy curated by some the UK’s most acclaimed chefs, it's a night you won't want to miss.

Chefs including Great British Menu winner, Tom Anglesea (the Laughing Heart) and the London chef of the year, Nieves Barragán Mohacho (Sabor), will be bringing a la carte to the street cart as they serve up mouth-watering street food inspired by some of the capital’s most renowned restaurants.

Joining Tom and Nieves are Chase Lovecky (Two Lights), Robin Gill (The Dairy, Sorella and Darby’s), Omar Allibhoy (Tapas Revolution), Karan Gokani (Hoppers), Nud Dudhia (Breddos Tacos) and Gabriel Langford (Laffa).

Dishing up dessert will be Jacob Kenedy from famed Gelato restaurant Gelupo, and chef Peter Gordon with Crosstown Doughnuts. They will be collaborating on a special dessert made exclusively for the event.

Other brands on board serving imaginative street food portions to the hungry masses are Gunpowder, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Shake Shack, Bar Douro in collaboration with Snapery bakery, and Club Twisted, an exciting partnership between Jungle Creations' online cooking community Twisted and Club Cultured.

Pandora Christie (Heart FM) will be providing entertainment on the night with a DJ set alongside Tom Best (Christie’s youngest ever auctioneer) hosting a playful auction packed with amazing prizes.

Drinks come courtesy of Taittinger Champagne (with plenty of chances to win glasses, bottles and magnums on the night) and bars will be serving your favourite beers, wines and cocktails throughout the evening.

Tickets are available to buy here https://lovefoodstreatfest.eventbrite.co.uk/?aff=press

Tickets are £35 for entry, 3 dishes, 1 drink or £65 for entry, 6 dishes and 3 drinks.

All funds support Action Against Hunger’s mission to end child hunger. Operational in 47 countries, Action Against Hunger specialises in providing life-saving food and nutrition to people in need, treating more children facing life threatening hunger than any other charity. In 2018 alone, the organisation supported more than 21 million people globally.

Nieves Barragán Mohacho, Chef Director at Michelin starred Sabor and the 2018 London Restaurant Awards Chef of the Year, recently travelled to Bangladesh with Action Against Hunger to witness first-hand the positive impact that the restaurant industry’s support has had on families fleeing persecution in Myanmar. “For me, food is everything. It is family, it is friendship, it is joy. But for far too many people food is a source of anxiety and fear. They don’t know where the next meal is coming from or whether their child will go to bed hungry. I witnessed, first-hand, the incredible work that Action Against Hunger is undertaking and the hope it is bringing to so many people. Taking part in Love Food Give Food and Love Food Streat Festival is a small thing that we can do, but the impact is massive.”
