Press release -

Allianz UK and Barnardo’s bring holiday joy with over 2,300 gifts for children across the UK

Allianz UK is thrilled to share the success of its recent Toy Appeal, which brought together colleagues, brokers, and suppliers in a heartwarming effort to support children and young people through Barnardo’s. This year, they collected and matched an impressive 2,350 toys and gifts, surpassing last year's total and spreading joy to those who might otherwise have gone without presents during the festive season.

However, amidst the seasonal celebrations, Allianz recognises the growing challenge in the UK, with nearly one in three children living in poverty. This underscores the importance of the partnership with Barnardo’s, as they strive to ensure no child feels left out at Christmas or any time of year. Through collective efforts, they’re not only bringing immediate relief but also supporting vital services that provide long-term assistance to families in need.

Rodney Assock, Head of Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility, Allianz UK said: “Thank you to everyone involved for your generosity and dedication. Together, we're making a difference and bringing smiles to the faces of children and families.”

“This initiative helps show the wider value insurers like Allianz UK offer and is part ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work.”

Lynn Perry, chief executive of Barnardo’s said: “We’re incredibly grateful for these generous gifts, which will be going to children and families across the UK.

“Behind the sparkle of this festive season, we know there are children worrying about having enough to eat, making do with clothes that are too small and feeling left out of the celebrations.

“Thanks to the wonderful support of partners like Allianz, we’re helping children and their families keep the power on, the fridge stocked and giving Christmas back to children and families across the country.”
