Brokers Ollie Wilson and Krishan Nathwani, took part in an unforgettable golfing experience at St Andrews Links, after both winning a prize place on the Allianz Golf Camp.

Allianz welcomed 31 young golfers, aged between 16 and 30 years, from eleven countries to St Andrews Links, Scotland. The event, now in its fourth year, took place from 2-6 September, 2016.

Highlights of the trip included five days of professional coaching at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy and mentoring with 2014 European Ryder Cup winning Captain, Paul McGinley. Golf Professionals Moritz Lampert, Sophia Popov as well as LPGA Proette Beatriz Recari also coached the young sports enthusiasts. “Can you beat the Allianz Golf Professionals”, was the approach for this year’s Allianz Golf Camp. The participants took on different challenges to see if they had the skills to beat the Golf Professionals.

Ollie Wilson from Arthur J Gallagher said:

“The Allianz Golf Camp was without doubt, the most surreal experience of my life! Ranging from playing with pro’s to walking over the infamous bridge on the old course; a feeling I cannot put into words. I’d recommend the Allianz Golf Camp to anybody that’s considering either getting into or improving their golfing ability”.

Krishan Nathwani of Jelf Insurance Brokers added:

“It was a trip that money couldn’t buy. Allianz pulled out all the stops with jam packed days and busy schedules and I wouldn’t change any part of it at all.

“I met some really great people on the way, of all nationalities and of all ages and learnt about their cultures. I have improved my game with the help of the guys at the St Andrews Clubhouse, the PGA Pros and most importantly my fellow peers”.

Simon McGinn, General Manager of Commercial & Personal commented:

“We were delighted to offer two brokers with a once in a lifetime opportunity to play at iconic St Andrews and be a part of the Allianz Golf Camp. There is a fantastic team spirit at the camp which is all about giving participants inspiration to achieve their highest goals. We hope that this was an unforgettable experience for Ollie and Krishan.”

2014 European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley said:

“Golf is a lifelong journey that has many ups and downs and ultimately makes you a stronger and better player. If you are under pressure you need to come with a positive mentality and not just think about the nerves and the excitement on how it will feel if you make an important putt. Have a good attitude and stick to your personal process to succeed”.

At St Andrews Links Golf Academy the participants are taught golfing skills while having access to the latest technology, for example in swing analysis. The camp is also an overall inspiring experience that will help them grow, on-and-off the course.
