Amazon Games Enters Publishing Agreement With Independent Developer Disruptive Games

Amazon Games expands publishing portfolio following record-breaking launch of Lost Ark, highest-played MMORPG of all time on Steam

London - June 2, 2022 - Amazon Games today announced a new publishing agreement with Disruptive Games, an independent game studio based in Berkeley, California. Amazon Games will publish Disruptive Games’ upcoming online multiplayer action-adventure game based on a new IP. Details on the multiplatform title, built for both cooperative and competitive play, will be revealed at a later date.

This publishing agreement follows Amazon Games’ successful launches of New World and Lost Ark, and marks its further expansion into publishing games developed by talented external studios. Lost Ark, Amazon Games’ first externally developed title, topped Steam and Twitch charts at release, and has reached more than 10 million players since launching in February 2022. Amazon Games also has multiple unannounced projects in development, both at its internal studios and with other external developers including Glowmade, an independent studio based in Guildford, England.

Disruptive Games is known for its work on titles including Diablo II: Resurrected, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and Godfall. The studio is focused on multiplayer-first gaming experiences that immerse players in living worlds. CEO and founder Eric Ellis led the multiplayer department at Insomniac Games before founding Disruptive Games to create games that center on player interactions and push the boundaries of connected gameplay.
