Bestselling authors to attend MCM Comic Con October

London, August 6 2025: With three months to go until MCM Comic Con returns from October 24 to 26, ReedPop are steadily revealing an ever-growing list of best-selling authors set to attend the show’s Writers Block literary zone.

Writers Block is the place to be at MCM Comic Con for literature fans - where readers can meet their favourite writers, attend insightful writing panels and workshops, and get their books signed by the authors who penned them.

Amongst the many talented authors setting up shop at Writers Block, some notable names include:

  • Kenechi Udogu - Friday 24 October
    • Kenechi is an up and coming author whose debut eco-thriller Augmented is making waves, having won Faber & Faber’s Imagined Futures Prize for eco-fiction.
  • Dan Coxon - Friday 24 - Saturday 25 October
    • Shirley Jackson Award and two-time British Fantasy Award winning author, Dan Coxon is best known for his horror anthologies, such as 2022’s Writing The Uncanny.
  • Jonathan Stroud - Saturday 25 October
    • Author of the popular Lockwood & Co and Bartimaeus series, Jonathan Stroud is renowned for making complex themes like class struggle accessible to young readers.
  • George Morris De’Ath - Sunday 26 October
    • George is a queer author, actor and playwright whose work explores the dark and twisted side of human nature. His next campy horror novel, The Haunting at Morsley Manor, is set to release shortly before MCM October.
  • Eric LaRocca - Sunday 26 October
    • New England-based horror writer and 3x Bram Stoker Award finalist Eric LaRocca’s work is influenced by the region’s rich folklore and dark history. Their upcoming novel, We Are Always Tender with Our Dead is set to be published in September.
  • Alwyn Hamilton - All three days
    • Canadian-born, French-raised, Alwyn’s debut YA fantasy novel Rebel of the Sands was a New York Times bestseller, spawning a successful trilogy. Her newest book, The Notorious Virtues was published in March of this year.

In addition to Writers Block, MCM Comic Con is the ultimate celebration of all things geek and pop culture. The convention is packed full of activities, panels, live shows, workshops and independent vendors for lovers of comics, fantasy, science fiction, anime and gaming of all ages.
