Chart a course for the furthest horizon – The Caspian Explorer launches today in ARX Early Access
Commanders are invited to feel the pull of the unknown and prepare for their next great expedition with the Caspian Explorer, as the latest new ship to land in Elite Dangerous launches in ARX Early Access today. Built with exploration at its core, this large ship from Zorgon Peterson aims to optimise planetary observations with proprietary new modules geared specifically towards improved planetary landings.
Unique to the Caspian Explorer are three new modules which aid the ship’s manoeuvrability, giving Commanders unrivalled control as they scout the stars. Mk II Gravity Optimised Thrusters reduce the most severe effects of gravity on High-G worlds by over 50%. Meanwhile the Caspian’s unique Ablative Shielding module allows for faster and steeper planetary entries, perfect for exploring the depths of space. Finally, an experimental Supercruise Overcharge upgrade enhances the effective jump range when fuel scooping from neutron and white dwarf stars, bringing the far flung reaches of space ever closer.
The Caspian Explorer is the final ship releasing this year, following the Gutamaya Corsair, the highly-requested Panther Clipper Mk II and the Lakon Type-11. Coming in early 2026, Elite Dangerous’ first major update of the year will introduce Operations, multi-stage missions for small squads of up to four players, which will offer unique rewards and challenge Commanders to master both on-foot and ship combat.
The Caspian Explorer is available now for 19,020 ARX, whilst the Stellar Edition can be acquired for 38,000 ARX and includes a selection of additional ship kit pieces alongside a striking paint job. Commanders can also choose to expand their cosmetic options with the new Galactic Edition for 69,000 ARX, containing everything in the Stellar Edition alongside the Lodestar Blue Holo-Kit and the additional Deep Space ship kit. All Commanders who purchase the ship within the early access window will also receive a limited edition ‘Owners Club’ decal. The Caspian Explorer will be available to purchase for in-game earned credits at a later date.
