MCM Birmingham Comic Con to host festive family fun this November
Birmingham, Thursday 13th November: With Christmas just around the corner, families are invited to get into the festive spirit as MCM Birmingham Comic Con returns to the NEC from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November, packed full of seasonal activities for the whole family.
With children under four going free discounted tickets for kids aged 10 and under and the dedicated Treehouse family zone, MCM Birmingham Comic Con is the ultimate destination for geeky families looking to ring in the holidays in style.
Family-friendly and festive activities to experience at MCM Birmingham include:
Project Dalek - All weekend
- Explore MCM Birmingham’s dedicated Dr Who zone, Project Dalek, and experience educational sessions on how to build and operate a functional Dalek, a Dr Who cosplay catwalk, Dr Who-themed games and crafts, and a festive snowball fight amongst the Daleks.
Festive Pottery Colouring - The Hangout, All weekend
- Colour your very own festive ceramics that'll have you top of Santa's nice list! No experience needed, just bring your holiday vibes and let’s make some funky art.
Kids’ Festive Arts and Crafts - The Treehouse, All weekend
- Grab your creativity caps, and join us for a weekend of festive crafting, laughter, and endless fun! We've got free craft activities for families to enjoy all weekend. It's like the best kids' birthday, all weekend long.
The Discount Comedy Checkout - The Treehouse, Friday 1pm
- The award winning, five star rated improvisation group is bringing their family friendly show to MCM! This show takes children's ideas and stories and brings them to life through our talented performers. There's even a chance for children to get involved in some of the games and even tell a story to put our performers on the spot as they act them out. The only limit is imagination so load your suggestions up and come along!
Musical Story Hour with Elphaba - The Treehouse, Saturday, 2pm
- Join Laura Scarlett as Elphaba for enchanting tales, music, and a touch of green witchy magic. Perfect for fans of all ages - come and discover what happened before Dorothy dropped in!
Kids Cosplay Showcase - The Treehouse, Saturday 12pm
- This is the time for your mini-superheroes to strut their stuff! On stage our mini-cosplayers will tell the audience about their costume and strike a pose. This is a great way for their moment to shine in a welcoming space. Open to under 12s with any costume. No need to sign up in advance, just arrive at The Treehouse between 11:50 - 12:00pm to take part.
Festive Morning Mayhem - Live Stage, Saturday 9:45am and Sunday 10:30am
- Start the day in the most chaotic way, with festive fun and games on the Live Stage. Join in and win prizes, or just watch the mayhem unfurl! The perfect way to begin your day at MCM.
Chibi Christmas Characters - Pop Asia Workshop, Saturday and Sunday 2:30pm
- Get into the festive spirit by designing your own chibi Christmas characters and discover how to turn holiday cheer into irresistibly cute manga drawings.
