Highlights

The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson took to the main stage for a spotlight on his writing career.

Brandon Sanderson discussed the highly anticipated upcoming adaptations of both the Stormlight Archive and Mistborn, and how he is taking the driver's seat on the screenplay for Mistborn. He revealed, “I'm working on the screenplay right now, in fact I plan to turn in the first pages in the next week. So wish me luck.”

Following these updates, fans of his work had the chance to ask any burning questions.

When asked about Preservation, a central shard in the Cosmere, as well as the character Rock, Brandon Sanderson shared he has plans for "a whole Rock novella at some point. I do want to write it but I have a lot of things on my list. We'll just have to see what happens."

Brandon was also asked if he had any actors he’d ever cast in his mind for his extensive list of characters, and he revealed that "I would cast Paul Bettany as Hoid", the central character in the Cosmere that connects the different series within.

With the Mistborn adaptation in the works, attendees quizzed Brandon on the type of score he foresees for these movies, he stated his ideal would be “John Williams. I love the classic orchestra scores and I feel like they match a fantasy film. That would be my goal…”

David Hayter and Cam Clarke also appeared on the Side Quest Stage to discuss their voice acting work on the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

David Hayter revealed that he reduced his offer for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty in order to bring back the full cast from the original game as “they wanted more money”. He then went on to say “take this much money off my offer, split it up, and bring back the original cast”.

David Hayter and Cam Clarke also praised the writing of Kojima, saying “the scripts were so cinematic” and “that’s Kojima’s writing”.

When discussing fans and their appreciation, David Hayter and Cam Clarke mentioned that they “had no idea what was going on with you [their fans] and how you [fans] were truly impacted by us”. After giving an example of their favourite interaction with a fan, Hayter said “what you have given us by sharing your most intimate stories is never lost on us”.

Jane Perry and David Bateson also chatted on the Side Quest Stage about all things Hitman.

David Bateson revealed how he got the job for Agent 47, saying that “in the middle of a recording for a corporate voiceover, this guy came in and interrupted the session and was looking for a voice”. Discussing further what led to his excitement for the role, Bateson stated that what struck him the most was “the graphics and look about it, that was very Blade Runner”.

Jane Perry discussed female fans' passions for Hitman, saying “Diana is that role model for people and I like hearing that connection to the character and try to champion that”. David Bateson also reflected the love for their fans as he said that “we feel deeply humbled to meet such dedication and passion from the fans”.
