SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE FIRST EVENT BATTLE STARTS TODAY

Konami Digital Entertainment, B.V.today announced the first Event Battle (“Standard”) in SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE, which is available now across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Google Stadia. This update follows shortly after the start of the game’s second season.

Event Battles will occur during Quick Match battles that use the Standard ruleset. There will be a variety of maps which players will compete in - these will change every day to keep things exciting! The number of players that can participate in an Event Battle will change daily as well, either four Bombers at a time or eight, so players can expect varying difficulties in their matches. Of course, if players wish to continue with classic Bomberman battles instead, they will still be able to do so.

This latest update also introduces a new character to the franchise - Shiori Fujisaki Bomber. One of the most popular characters from the Tokimeki Memorial series, Shiori Fujisaki is cute, intelligent and good at sports. In SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE, Shiori will be a ‘Unique Type’ Bomber with the ability ‘Tokimeki Field’ which will allow her to freeze all nearby characters for a short time. Shiori Fujisaki Bomber is available at 300 Bomber Coins in the in-game store.

Players can further discern themselves from the rest with the optional Premium Pack (RRP €9.99/£9.99/$9.99), giving access to 14 additional bomber characters that pay homage to classic KONAMI IP’s such as Gradius, Silent Hill, Castlevania and more!

While anyone in the world can jump into a “Battle 64” room, the Premium Pack allows players to create their own private Room Match with rulesets that include “Battle 64” mode, “Standard” mode with up to 16 players or “Grand Prix”. Grand Prix divides players into two teams of up to 3v3 to compete in earning points, with the highest total points after the two battle rounds wins.
