Toy Fair 2018 Sold Out

Industry showcase sells out floor space four months prior to doors opening, as organiser announces Toy Fair Heroes as new showcase feature

The British Toy and Hobby Association today announced Toy Fair 2018 has sold out its entire floor space at London’s Olympia. The exhibition has sold out almost four months prior to doors opening on 23 January.

“It is an exciting time for toy innovation,” commented Majen Immink, Director of Fairs and Special Events. “With Toy Fair selling out this early, it shows that there is huge demand in the toy industry at the moment. I am looking forward to seeing the products set to be launched in January.”

As the UK’s largest toy, game and hobby trade show, Toy Fair 2018 will be looking to emulate the success of last year’s event, which attracted more than 250 exhibiting companies. Floor plans can be viewed on the Toy Fair website.

More than 100 exhibiting companies at Toy Fair this year will be returning exhibitors. One of these is Clementoni, an Italian toy company. “Toy Fair is an extremely important show for us and we are looking forward to meeting both new and existing colleagues across the three days,” said Shahbaz Khan, Country Manager, Clementoni. “We are excited to return to Toy fair and to reflect the growth of the business and the investment we are making into the Clementoni brand for the UK, we have a much bigger stand and so much more product to reveal for launch in 2018.”

On the same day, the BTHA announced the exciting new toy showcase for Toy Fair 2018: Toy Fair Heroes. The new showcase highlights exceptional toys across all categories. This is a badge of honour that will be awarded to toys, games and hobbies that are a set apart from all others. Only toys that are innovative, exciting and break the mould will be considered for this exclusive showcase. The top 25 toys at Toy Fair will be selected by toy experts and the BTHA, and will make up the new Toy Fair Heroes.

The winners in each category will be announced on the opening morning of the show. The showcase will take centre stage at the front of the press office, allowing visitors to see these exemplary toys for themselves. The press office is located upstairs in Room 158, next to the TFTV Demo Zone and Toy Trust Coffee Lounge.

Rebecca Deeming, Public Relations Manager, added, “By creating Toy Fair Heroes, we will be able to showcase and exhibit the wide range of pioneering products made within our industry.”
