BeSafe Pregnancy belt saves lives!
Adelheid works as a critical care nurse at Elverum Hospital in Norway and as usual it was a hectic day at work.
On the way home the car in front suddenly slammed on the brakes and at just over 305mph Adelheid had no chance to react and take avoiding action; the accident was inevitable!
Adelheid’s Peugeot 206 was a write-off and all the airbags had been deployed. She was not injured but her thoughts and concerns were for her unborn baby.
Fortunately, she had inherited a BeSafe Pregnancy Belt from her sister. Thanks to the belt moving the force of the collision, from the stomach down to the thighs no harm was done.
- If I had not used the pregnancy belt, I do not know what had happened, said Adelheid.
Their baby was born on 20 November and both mother and daughter are doing well!
In a collision, an adult is thrown forward with a force of three to five tonnes. In a pregnant woman, the fetus is exposed to this extreme load of the seatbelt on impact. BeSafe Pregnant holds the lap belt away the unborn baby.
In addition, the mother avoids any discomfort caused by the belt being placed over the stomach during ordinary day-to-day driving. The BeSafe Pregnant may be used from as early as the second month of pregnancy. The BeSafe Pregnant has been tested in accordance with ECE R 16.
