High odds on outsiders Garcia and Mickelson at the British Open with Betclic

35 times the money on Sergio Garcia - or how about 50.00 in odds on Phil Mickelson to lead after the first day? The  140th British Open is starting soon and bookies like Betclic are preparing for a flow of bets on the outsiders.

- The British Open will attract much more interest and bets compared to last summer with no major football tournament going, and the odds are really high on genuine outsiders, says Dan Vikman, PR Manager at Betclic.

Sergio Garcia who is priced at 35,00 to lead the field after the Round 1 is in excellent form at the moment and if he finds his putting range he could well be a surprise name at the top of the leaderboard. Or if you think experience is key at the majors then former World no.1 Phil Mickelson is priced highly at 50,00 with Betclic to lead the major.
