Barbour Product Search and BIMobject sign cooperation agreement

Leaders in their respective markets - Barbour Product Search, the building products and materials search engine, and BIMobject®, the fast growing BIM content supplier, today signed a Letter of Intent to collaborate on the incorporation of BIM objects into Barbour Product Search.   

The Product Search portfolio of  search sites includes Barbour Product Search (www.barbourproductsearch.info), Building Product Search (http://productsearch.building.co.uk), BD Product Search (http://productsearch.bdonline.co.uk) and Ecobuild Product Search (www.ecobuildproductsearch.co.uk) will channel BIM objects  from the BIMobject® (http://bimobject.com/) cloud-based portal. This will enhance the product deliverables from the Product Search sites and will add manufacturer specific, information rich  BIM objects to their portfolio.

BIMobject® is a world leading developer of BIM objects with a global and format neutral, cloud-based solution. The BIMobject®portal of manufacturer objects has an open architecture which enables the Product Search portfolio  to integrate these objects into their product sites through web services. This dynamic link also ensures the BIM objects on the Product Search portfolio sites are always up to date as only one version of an object exists in the cloud - making maintenance of products by manufacturers an easy task.

This extended solution offers UK BIM professionals a major benefit by delivering a direct download of high quality, manufacturer specific, BIM objects within the Product Search portfolio. With all BIM objects, and their associated information, coming from the BIMobject® cloud, data will be consistent and reliable and professionals are offered a direct path of communication to manufacturers.   

This cooperation between Barbour Product Search and BIMobject will increase the exposure for those manufacturers which already have BIM objects on the BIMobject® cloud.  For architects, engineers and designers it will simplify the way they can find BIM objects and download them into their favourite BIM authoring software.
