Live Innovations motivated by Michael Jordan’s “Failure” commercial.

London-based event marketing specialist,  Live Innovations is committed to developing its workforce to help them reach their goals and achieve their full potential. This past week, Managing Director Tom Harris has been using Michael Jordan’s 'failure commercial' as motivation for his morning meetings.

In the thirty-second commercial for Nike, Jordan states that he missed more than 9000 shots in his career, lost almost 300 games, 26 times he was trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. He failed, over and over and over again and that is why he succeeds.

Michael Jordan is commonly referred to as the greatest basketball player of all time. Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA, and he holds the NBA records for highest career regular season scoring average (30.12 points per game) and highest career playoff scoring average (33.45 points per game. In 1999, ESPN named Jordan, the greatest North American athlete of the 20th century. Jordan is a two-time inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame, as an individual and part of a team.

At Live Innovations, the company believes that athletes can make great entrepreneurs as there are many transferable skills between business and sport and that the attributes that make a successful athlete can also make a successful entrepreneur. In sport, an unbeatable work ethic, desire to succeed and a winning mentality are all attributes that can help elevate someone to the top of their field, and those qualities can be transferred into business to make a successful entrepreneur.

Mr Harris played the famous Michael Jordan failure commercial during one of the firm’s morning meetings. The award-winning entrepreneur highlighted the fact that the big take away from the commercial was that failure is a part of the journey to success. There is a great quote from Stephen McCranie;

“The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.”

At Live Innovations, the company firmly believes that failure is a natural part of success. “There are no overnight success stories. People who make it to the top have overcome many obstacles and failed multiple times before they have succeeded,” commented Mr Harris.

Entrepreneur and business owner at Live Innovations, Tom Harris , is a passionate business coach and mentor, using his industry expertise to help advise and guide the next generation of industry entrepreneurs. The event marketing expert has vast growth goals for 2018, and Mr Harris recognises that as the firm's contractors grow and develop, the company will develop simultaneously.
